Nicola Borton established her interior design business in 2012, after certifying with honours from leading London design school KLC where she specialised in residential design. Since then, she has worked on a wide variety of projects including large family homes, loft conversions and basements both in London and the Home Counties. She is based in Wandsworth in London.
Having formerly worked in the art world, Nicola is also able to source pictures/antiques from auction houses or art dealers. She is equally able to integrate existing family furniture and paintings into a scheme, while at the same time updating the décor to ensure it all flows seamlessly.
Nicola has access to a large portfolio of craftsmen, decorators, curtain makers and other design experts, with whom she has worked for a number of years.
She is happy to take on all sizes of projects from a whole house renovation or a one-room design.
Nicola Borton is an Associate Member of the British Institute of Interior Design.
"I try to make my projects looks like real homes and not glossy boutique hotels which lack any sort of character – you can create a beautiful and elegant home which is at the same time welcoming and reflective of the needs and personality of my clients."
"I specialize in creating elegant, comfortable interiors for my predominantly residential clients. Residential design is as much about understanding how your clients live and work and ensuring that the scheme I create for them reflects their personalities with elegance and taste”.
"I like to ensure that my clients’ know what possibilities are open to them and to encourage them to explore their creativity within their comfort zone."
"Wallpaper is a favourite of mine at the moment as we move away from grey and taupes – there are some stunning ones around which can really transform a room and make it immediately elegant and welcoming at the same time."
